New Opportunities for Architects, Mechanical Engineers,
HVAC, and Test & Balance Contractors

The EZ-RAD System of remote-actuated dampers eliminates design and construction barriers, creating new opportunities and application options for Architects, Mechanical Engineers, HVAC contractors and Test & Balance companies.

Unlike traditional HVAC systems that require close-proximity damper accessibility, which limits design and installation options, the EZ-RAD System controls remote-actuated Balancing Dampers (BD-Series) through its Transportable Control System (TCS). The optional Airflow Measurement Device (AM-Series) eliminates the need for measuring airflow with conventional Test & Balance instruments.

Architects: EZ-RAD Provides Architects New Design Flexibility

The EZ-RAD System allows architects to eliminate ceiling access devices, suspended ceiling systems and other materials commonly used to provide access to mechanical balancing dampers.

Rather than being bound by decades-old construction conventions that often compromise a strong vision and design, EZ-RAD opens up another realm of architectural and design possibilities with these features:

  • Suitable for any structure–Commercial, industrial, institutional, laboratory, hospital, detention facilities and residential construction.

  • Ceiling accessibility never required after initial placement, cable connection and functional test; lifetime readjustment.

  • Unlimited applications for any structure or construction method — exposed or concealed.

  • Easy Plug-N-Operate™ installation; single-source responsibility.

  • No physical boundaries. Access terminal providing connection to concealed components can occur at any terminal unit, AD device or convenient building surface.

Mechanical Engineers:
System Flexibility and Dependability for Mechanical Engineers

EZ-RAD’s ability to adapt to any environment or application process links engineer and architect in a more collaborative and productive manner than ever before, with such features as:

  • Conservative damper placement at no additional cost, supporting naturally acquired acoustical properties.

  • Damper and airflow measurement placement in any position, in any location, within any building cavity space.

  • Unrestricted balancing damper shape, size, system requirements, material type and leakage class definition.

  • Battery-powered, electronic microcontroller technology and wireless control.

  • Modular cable concepts with RJ45s for easy connection, sizing, adaptability and replacement should site damage occur.

  • Digital encryption technology for serial identification, secure communication and eliminating unauthorized access and operation.

  • Access terminal to concealed components can occur at any terminal unit, airflow device or building surface.

  • Inherently safe system using low voltage DC power only during operations; electrical power is removed entirely once observation and regulation is completed.

  • Link and control up to eight BDs and AMDs via one access connection jack with an optional hub

HVAC Contractors:
Simplified Damper Installation and Setup for HVAC Contractors

The EZ-RAD System easily dovetails into the normal procedures and workflow of a construction project. Installation and testing is a simple, three-step process that doesn’t require an electrician, special tools or on-site wiring terminations.

First, the valve device is installed during rough-in; second, cable rough-in occurs prior to ceiling framing or prior to its completion; finally, the Access Connector (AC) is fastened at an appropriate stationary location and testing is conducted using EZ-RAD’s simple Plug-N-Operate technology.

Other features include:

  • Cost-effective solution for air balancing — just one Transportable Control System (TCS) and one System Tester (TST) can be used for unlimited projects and installations.

  • Modular system components utilizing RJ45 connections.

  • Simple Plug-N-Operate technology.

  • Easy-to-install EZ-RAD Hubs have up to eight jacks for multiple device connections, adjustment and control through a single Access Connector.

  • The System Controller (CTL-100) is ergonomically designed for superior flexibility and simplicity in operation and application.

Test & Balance Contractors:
Accurate, Fast and Efficient Test and Balance

T&B operation is easy with EZ-RAD’s bundled Transportable Control System (TCS), which includes a System Controller (CTL), wireless remote control and rechargeable batteries. Together, they provide:

  • Full-featured, pushbutton control panel for easy operation.

  • Wireless remote control for damper adjustment within a 200-foot radius of the TCS.

  • Alphanumeric LCD display of all operations.

  • Serial number identification of connected and controlled devices.

  • System tests with results displayed.

  • Damper blade position and end-of-stroke detection and display.

  • Real-time airflow display in CFM or L/s (with AMD options).

  • Audible feedback for local and wireless control operations.

  • Battery status and automatic charge control.

  • Only one technician required for independent damper regulation and optional real-time airflow measurement.

  • Traditional instruments are not required.
